Ernesettle Church Plant

At the APCM earlier in the year, we mentioned that we were part of a bid made by the Diocese for funding from central Church of England authorities to set up a new church in Ernesettle. This funding has now been granted, which is very exciting news! What this means is that our curate, Adam, and his family will be moving to Ernesettle in January to head up the new church that is being planted there. A few people from our church have also felt God’s call to join Adam in this new adventure, and we are greatful for their willingness to play their part in this new church. We also want to reassure you that if you live in Ernesettle, there is no pressure for you to leave St Budeaux and join them, as you can keep on coming here. This is a great opportunity to be involved in spreading the good news of Jesus and very much what we as church family hope is part of our family spirit - that we want to see new people coming to faith, and particularly, we long to see people in areas where there is a lot of poverty, finding new hope, new life and being changed by the love of Jesus. We are not losing people, so much as taking part in an amazing new chance to spread the gospel and serve our community.

Bears & Prayers

New from September we will be holding Bears & Prayers during our Turning Point service on the first Sunday of every month! Bears & Prayers is aimed at our littlest members (our under 4’s) and there will be lots of songs, dancing, musical instruments and interactive bible stories. The children will also have a biscuit and a drink and some time for free play. Parents will be able to leave their children in Bears & Prayers so that they can join in worship in the hall!

We’re also delighted to announce that Laura Dimbleby will be running Bears & Prayers. Laura is a qualified nursery teacher and has a passion to see the youngest members of our family enter into the presence of Jesus. Please pray for Laura and her team and for Bears & Prayers as it is established!

Sabbatical Leave

Stephen will be on sabbatical for 3 months from the 1st September until 30th November. Please pray that he and Caroline have a restful and productive time away!
