From Sunday 2 August we will be able again to meet together to worship. Alleluia.
In August, we will have two Services each Sunday in the church building– one at nine and one at eleven. We will review how this is working and let you know later what will happen in September (or if we need to change anything).
As we have to maintain social distancing, and this means numbers will be limited, will you please let us know which service you would like to come to? This is very important so we can plan. Think of it as booking a place – places will be reserved on a first come first reserved basis. They will be the same services at both times, as singing is not yet allowed and for August we are not planning to reintroduce Holy Communion Services.
We will need volunteers to steward before both services and clean up afterwards. Please let me know if you would like to help with this.
We are asked to remind you to wash your hands and there will be hand sanitizer at the doors. If you are showing symptoms, you are of course asked to continue self-isolating. The latest advice from the Church of England is that we should also wear face coverings – so please come prepared to do so.
We want to make it clear that we are warmly inviting everyone to come, but also warmly understand that some people may still want to or need to stay at home, Both decisions are great. (But could you please let me know what you decide to do – it would be great to hear from you anyway).
We will be continuing to put worship online on our website and to have zoom meetings – we are trying to include and encourage people in different ways.
Do please pray for everyone organising all the elements of the services - the practical side of social distancing, the technology to get things online and the best way to help us meet with God and grow as disciples in our worship times. Of course, please continue to support and pray for one another in these difficult times.
May the God of peace
Who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus
That great Shepherd of the sheep
Equip you with everything good for doing his will
And may he work in us what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ
To whom be glory for ever. Amen.
